Monday was probably my favorite day so far. We celebrated Easter Mass at the tomb of The Resurrection, went to the upper room (where 4 of the 7 Sacraments were instituted), Garden of Gethsemane, Rock of Agony, walked through the Kidron Valley to the home of Caiaphas (now it is the Church of St. Peter Galicantu) and got to go down to the cave prison Jesus was kept on Holy Thursday night. Which means that after Mass we basically did what Jesus did on Holy Thursday! What an amazing experience.
Tuesday was almost just as wonderful. We began early with The Via Dolorosa (way of the cross), had Mass on Calvary, toured the Holy Sepulcher, went inside the tomb of the resurrection, Dominus Flevit (place Jesus looked at the city of Jerusalem and wept), walked half of the Palm Sunday road, and ended the day with evening Eucharistic adoration at Gethsemane.
Today we are currently on our way north towards Galilee (Tiberius) with a stop in Cana (for Mass and married couples will renew their wedding vows) and Nazareth (to see the home of the Holy Family, St. Joseph's workshop, Church of Annunciation), and then to the Mt. of Beatitudes.
I can't believe this trip is almost over. It has been such an amazing and spiritually renewing trip so far...and I can't wait for the next few days.
